About Sherra Robinson
I am the Founder of the Royal Youth Dance Ensemble. I am a deeply passionate mother and grandmother who has a heart for the inner-city children and youth in Knoxville. I was born and raised in the heart of East Knoxville, working and serving my community for over 20 years. My commitment is to serve and impact the lives of this future generation and prevent youth from entering into the juvenile system, which inevitably sends them to the judicial system! I am radical in my response and intentional with my goal to end the cycle of violence and crime in our neighborhoods by providing an outlet for youth to channel their energy into a creative form of art! I am now the Founder and Director of Royal YOUth Dance Ensemble. The Royal Youth Dance Ensemble is a community-based dance program for children and youth ages 3-17. The MISSION of our organization is to provide a creative outlet for youth that builds character, raises self-esteem, boosts confidence, and promotes positive interaction through artistic expression. The VISION is to inspire youth to use the arts and its disciplines to aid them through life and its experiences. The HOPE is that the arts will act as a vehicle for guiding them through cultural exposure, enrichment, and enjoyment, which leads to healthier outcomes. Our program allows families to determine a monthly tuition that suites their budget, ranging from full tuition to free. Students can dance at any cost…literally. Not only do we provide affordable quality dance training, we also provide full dance attire, including leotards, tights, and shoes, and financial assistance for recital/performance costumes to those in need.
