About Sheri Pitigala

International Development Experience: Sheri is an international economist, with 15 years’ experience in providing technical assistance and capacity building to support private sector, export-led development in developing countries and emerging markets. She brings a wealth of expertise in trade policy reform, including tariff reform, regional integration and WTO compliance, as well as special economic zones and other export development programs. Ms. Pitigala also brings experience in working with both public and private stakeholders to build capacity for policy formulation and implementation, as well as the promotion of effective public-private dialogue. Most recently, Ms. Pitigala served as a resident Trade Policy Advisor and Deputy Component Lead for Trade and Investment in USAID Jordan’s flagship Economic Development Program. In this capacity, she designed, managed and delivered technical assistance and capacity building for trade policy reform and export promotion. Prior to her work in Jordan, Ms. Pitigala has provided a wide range of technical assistance and capacity building to developing countries and emerging markets across the Middle East, Latin America, Asia, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. Beverage Entrepreneur: Sheri is also an entrepreneur in the natural beverage space. She is currently Managing Partner of Sri Lanka Gold Pure Premium King Coconut Water. During its first year of operations, Sheri led Sri Lanka Gold\'s Sales and Marketing operations, securing 250+ outlets in the North East. Sheri is also instrumental in supporting the organization\'s Fair Trade model, leveraging more than 15+ years of experience supporting agrobusinesses and smallholder farmers worldwide.
