I started my career as an offshore software engineer in Cairo, Egypt — working with distributed teams, navigating time zones, and understanding firsthand what it feels like to be the person on the other side of the call. Today, I\'m an onshore Engineering Manager in the United States, leading those same kinds of distributed teams. That full-circle journey shapes everything about how I lead.With 16+ years in tech, I\'ve grown from individual contributor to technical lead to engineering manager, with experience spanning both sides of the offshore/onshore divide. At Vibes, I founded and scaled the Provisioning team from scratch — a greenfield initiative where I defined the technical vision, built the team, established engineering practices, and delivered a production system from zero.What drives me: building environments where engineers do their best work. I know what offshore engineers need to feel heard, included, and set up for success — because I\'ve been there. That lived experience informs how I break down silos, build trust across time zones, and create high-performing teams regardless of geography.I believe the best engineering leaders are translators: fluent in both the technical and the business, comfortable in uncertainty, and relentless about closing the gap between what teams build and what customers actually need.Outside of work, I\'m passionate about mentorship, volunteering, and exploring ideas at the intersection of technology, education, and social impact.
