About Sherif Wadood

An entrepreneur and professional executive with more than 20 years of experience. He is the founder and the managing partner of Heidelberg Partners, an incubator & managment consulting firmSherif was born in 1975. He holds a double masters degree in Political Science & Economics from the University of Heidelberg, Germany. He first worked at the Heidelberg University as a researcher & then as an instructor, focused on economies of developing countries.He moved back to Egypt and held various positions within a private sector group, in the area of Business Development, Finance & Restructuring.Sherif then took the reins of a relatively small energy company and grew it tenfold over the period of 7 years. He left as CEO of a holding with 7 subsidiaries operating in MENA Region, US, & Mexico. During his tenure, he founded \"R&A\" the first private Egyptian Energy research center, and acted as an advisor to various governmental agencies & international Oil & Gas entities such as S&P, Moody’s, Shell, Chevron, Halliburton. He launched a Renewable Energy company in Egypt, an upstream technology company in Texas, and expanded the group activities to include a wide range of logistic and contracting services. He then founded PICO Mexico and worked with PEMEX to deploy the world largest Lift-boat in Cantarell and introduce their first offshore turn-key development contract, which has since been adopted.He was engaged in a number of acquisitions/public tender of O&G assets, helping the company to become the largest Egyptian independent producer.In 2014 Sherif co-founded TEXEGY LLC, an E&P company focused on Texas & Louisiana assets. In 2016, he followed with TEXEGY Royalty LLC, obtaining full mineral ownership of over acres in Louisiana. In 2022, he co-founded Coefficient, a modernization fund focused on low carbon technologies Apart from his engagement in the energy sector, in 2002 Sherif Co-founded and later became Executive Vice Chairman of “Al-Masry Al-Youm” 20••••12, making it the most trusted newspaper in Egypt and expanding it to be largest media organization in print, digital and video production. In 2009, Sherif co-founded KOMPASS, a modern Montessori Kindergarten and School. He held other notable positions including member of board of directors of the Arab German Chamber of Commerce. Sherif was Egypt\'s youth chess champion and represented his country in various events.
