ABOUT SHERENE AL-TURK
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with additional training in trauma-informed interventions. I’ve had the opportunity to work with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults, all of whom presented with a wide range of mental health concerns and diagnoses. My clinical areas of strength include trauma/childhood trauma, self-esteem and interpersonal difficulties, anxiety, depression, suicidality, mood disorders, and issues surrounding anger management, aggression/impulse control, and life transitions. My therapeutic approach is holistic in nature where I focus on the cohesion between the mind and the body. I utilize person-centered, solution-focused techniques, incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) principles when appropriate and always operate from a trauma-informed lens. My goal is to provide clients with a space where they feel supported in their own self-reflection and motivated to replace counterproductive patterns with adaptive narratives that support their values and speak to their strengths.
