   I\'m excited to begin my new role as the Arts Learning Specialist with the Nevada Arts Council. This is truly a dream job for me! The Nevada Arts Council, a division of the Nevada Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, was created as a state agency in 1967. Nevada Arts Council programs serve as a catalyst to stimulate artistic, creative, cultural, and economic activity across the state, enliven its breadth of communities, ensure lifelong learning in the arts for all Nevadans. As the Arts Learning Specialist, I\'ll be supporting the implementation of workshops, mentorships, professional development opportunities, regional and statewide convenings, and funding for contemporary and traditional artists, non-profit and cultural organizations, and public institutions. In addition, increasing arts education and arts integration into the curriculum of Nevada’s Pre-K-12 schools and promoting lifelong learning through use of arts and creativity in the social development, health, and healing for all Nevada citizens. This is a deeply meaningful role for me as a dedicated arts educator who was born and raised in the fabulous state of Nevada. I\'m very much looking forward to creating a tangible impact in the the arts education landscape of my home state! I truly believe that everyone deserves access to the transformative and healing power of the arts & I feel honored to be able to advocate for arts education on a state-wide level.
