Northgate is a secondary special school for pupils with a wide range of learning, physical and sensory disabilities. Almost 50% of the pupil population have a diagnosis of Autism.I took over the role of Head Teacher in 2004 when the school was in special measures. Our last two Ofsted inspections have been Outstanding. I became Executive Head Teacher in 2012 when we created a new 6th form provision for young people with Learning Disabilities called The Bee Hive. We were one of the first Special School Academies in September 2011 and have benifitted from the freedoms this brings.
