Oct 2018 — Present · Milford, MI, US

Controls Engineering Tools GroupGlobal Electrification, Controls, SW & ElectronicsGeneral MotorsIn this position I am responsible for and oversee the whole life cycle of the critically-real-time-control-data-centered software design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance; specifically speaking, my duties include (1) 30% of time on architecting solutions, software system design, interacting with customers and engineers to determine the optimal solutions, new tools/methods, features, and requirements, leading cross-team design and development effort, and (2) 70% of time on software development, peer review, testing, validation, verification, deployment and maintenance. • Designed, developed, and deployed GMSIMTools, a widely used cross-department virtual system integration and validation infrastructure engine and its upper platform/interfaces which glues together different commercial simulation components over Intranet based on the FMI (Functional Mock-up Interface) protocols to support the fast evaluation of GM’s digital vehicle design, modeling, verification and validation before moving to the more time-consuming and costly SIL/HIL phases (saved over 80% of system design/evaluation time and 60% of h/w prototype testing cost).• Designed, implemented, and deployed the software tool AutoVal to (1) automate the EMC data collection based on TCP/IP and CAN communication protocols,(2) automatic testing and validation of vehicle controller data, and (3) automatic diagnosis training, learning, and optimization of controlling parameters using machine learning and data mining techniques such as CNN, RNN and MLP.• Designed and developed system architecture and tools used to support the GM Road-to-Lab-to-Math initiative with the goal of fully automating Powertrain.
