ABOUT SHENA R. VEALE
At 17 years old, my Grandmother signed parental consent and so it began. I have a combined 24 years of military experience. I spent 20 years in the Alabama Army National Guard and currently serve in the Army full time. As a Soldier in the Alabama Army National Guard, I mobilized twice in support of hurricane disaster relief. During Hurricane Katrina, I went to Mississippi to provide humanitarian aide. For Hurricane Rita, I went to Louisiana to provide security to EMS workers at a hospital and on call. After 9/11, I was mobilized to replace Air National Guard Security Forces at Dannelly Field and Maxwell Airforce Base in support of Operation Noble Eagle.(20••••04).I worked at Fort McClellan Training Center in Anniston, Alabama from January 2007 to June 2011. I provided human resources and photography support to Officer/Warrant Officer and Military Police schools. I also worked full time as a Site Security Manager for the DEERS/Rapids ID card office on site, providing services to all branches of the military, Retirees, Veterans, DOD Civilians, Contractors, and their families. From 2011 to 2012, I was deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. I provided human resources support, mail room delivery/oversight, equal opportunity and victim advocate services. I was the medical liason for injured service members who were evacuated to other locations.I participated in three warfighter exercises, performing as an HR NCO, an Operations NCO, and a Battle NCO for high optempo 24 hour operations. I deployed to Kuwait in 2017 to 2018. During this tour, I was the Out-of-country Travel Manager, responsible for knowing and implementing DOD Travel Regulations, ensuring personnel had requirements and permissions to enter/exit foreign countries. In Jordan and Bahrain, I assisted with Force Protection to assist in a customs inspection mission. I participated in a Key Leader Engagement with Iraqi Forces. I crossed over to the Army Active component in 2019 after I received my 20 year letter from the Army National Guard. I was retrained to signal at Fort Gordon, Georgia before moving to Europe. In Germany, from 2019 to 2022, I was the G6 Platoon Sergeant and the COMSEC Manager for 10th Army Air and Missile Defense Command. I provided Soldier leadership and support, and communication support to command training missions and contingency operations. I volunteered in support of Operation Allies Refuge to provide biometric screening and registration, supply distribution, and morale support to travelers who were evacuated from Afghanistan.
