About Shelly Amargo
Currently a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) student at California Southern University. I graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelors in Psychology in 2018 and recently graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Masters in Psychology with an emphasis in Sport and Performance Psychology. I have studied coursework in applied sport and performance psychology, psychology of coaching, performance enhancement and preparation, ethics, counseling theory, group counseling, and psychopathology. In my current position as the Director of Career Services at Universal Technical Institute, I aid in establishing student career goals, mentoring, and creating employment opportunities for current students and graduates. I have over 10 years experience in customer service, account management, sales, logistics, and project management. When I am not studying or working, I volunteer as a Crisis Counselor, which has only added to my active listening and problem-solving skills. I also enjoy hiking, traveling, and watching sports (especially hockey).
