About Shelly Hall

Born in Muskegon, MI - Shelly met Kelly while attending Criminal Justice classes at the local community college. They eloped and he enlisted in the Army & they found themselves at many a military base. It seemed as though each move brought with it a new child, for within 5 years they were blessed with Tyler, Tori, Tricia, Tony and Tanner. At this point, Kelly was a CW2 about to be commissioned. He became a 2nd LT and they received orders for Germany, where he would fly fixed wing RC-12’s. They packed up their 5 little ones, all under the age of 6, and headed overseas. Not two months later, on November 6, 1998, Kelly was tragically killed in a training flight. Shelly was left to pick up the pieces and carry on. She returned to their hometown in Michigan, but longed to be near a military base. After randomly choosing Ft. Benning, Shelly and the children moved to Columbus GA. Her family was able to make a home in a community that has much to offer. She is a boardmember of the Valley Area Crimestoppers, Co-Chair of Domestic Violence Roundtable and a teammember of several multidisciplinary taskforces that fight crime & child abuse. Shelly and her family attend Church of the Holy Family. She holds a Masters Degree of Public Administration in the Justice Field from Columbus State University and is the Director of Victims Services for the Office of the District Attorney. She speaks publicly monthly to raise awareness of issues such as Teen Dating Violence, Dangers of Distracted Driving, Crime Victims Rights, and many other vital topics.
