After working extensively in direct patient care, I decided to transition to a role where I worked to improve systems as a Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist, leading into a Clinical Review RN, Nurse Auditor role. Building upon this brought the opportunity to be a Senior Nurse in the Biomechanical division is an exciting opportunity to grow, learn and share knowledge. I am deeply passionate about driving systemic improvements through my efforts in healthcare administration, medical records review, physician education and team collaboration. The opportunity to explore the biomechanical depths of injury mechanism excites me and brings my career to full circle. By analyzing charts for quality assurance and communicating with physicians regarding diagnoses and treatment plans, I ensured chart alignment with coding guidelines to obtain maximal reimbursement. Now I can share insights into the mechanism of injuries I have cared for throughout my nursing career.As a nursing leader, I enjoy working with interdisciplinary teams to identify issues and create strategies to improve patient safety, operational effectiveness, clinical outcomes, ethics, and nursing team effectiveness. I pride myself on my dedication to providing resources and education to nurses in order to support their autonomy and clinical decision-making. After over 20 years with Centura Health/Adventist Health System, I am ready for the next step in my career. This is a monumental time in history and healthcare.
