Shelley Whiddon is a seasoned global communications and corporate affairs executive with a proven track record in leading high-performing teams. Her expertise spans strategic corporate communications, PR/media relations, issues and reputation management, investor relations/financial communications, government relations and public policy advocacy, sustainability/ESG strategy and corporate philanthropy and community investing. She has consistently delivered measurable results, driving stakeholder value in highly regulated and rapidly changing global business environments.As the SVP of Corporate Affairs & Chief Communications Officer at Bread Financial, Shelley leads initiatives to protect and enhance the company\'s reputation while driving engagement with both internal and external stakeholders. Her responsibilities include employee communications, B2B and B2C PR, media relations, digital channel strategy and Sustainability strategy and reporting. Shelley leads a team responsible for strategic multi-stakeholder communications covering business strategy and financial performance, workplace culture, DE & I engagement, responsible business practices and community investing. She also provides counsel on public policy matters affecting Bread Financial’s business interests and serves on the company\'s Political Action Committee Board of Directors.Shelley joined Bread Financial (formerly Alliance Data) in 2001. Prior to joining the company, she held positions in marketing and public relations at Mary Kay, Premiere Radio Networks (now iHeart Radio) and an uBundle.com, a telecom internet startup.Shelley holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a minor in marketing from the University of North Texas, and a Master of Liberal Studies degree with a focus on alternative dispute resolution from Southern Methodist University. She is a former member of the Young Men’s Service League, a nonprofit organization promoting mother-son community service and leadership development for young men. Shelley has also served on the boards of the North Texas Commission, a public-private partnership driving community projects and public policy advocacy benefitting the North Texas region’s 13 counties, and nonprofit Court Appointed Special Advocates of Collin County.In her free time, Shelley enjoys entertaining, traveling, volunteering in her community, the performing arts, outdoor activities and spending time with family.
