ABOUT SHELDON FALK
I am a corporate lawyer committed to serving non-profits, charities, and impact organisations throughout BC.For nearly a decade prior to becoming a lawyer, I held various leadership roles within the non-profit sector. I co-founded a non-profit (North Island Pride Society) and led its board for several years. I worked with tiny non-profits with no resources all the way up to provincial organisations with offices, staff, and thousands of members.Access to justice, giving back to the sector, and public legal education are core values of my practice. I am committed to providing affordable legal services that meet the needs and circumstances of my clients.Called to the bar in 2023, I earned my law degree at UBC\'s Peter A. Allard School of Law. While at UBC, I completed a judicial externship at BC Provincial Court. I also worked at Pacific Legal Education and Outreach Society (PLEO) under the direction of Martha Rans, K.C, developing legal resources for BC’s non-profit sector. In 2021, I was awarded the Rt. Hon. Beverley McLachlin Legal Access Award for my efforts to enhance public legal education.Prior to law school, I studied business management at North Island College, where I received the President’s Award for graduating at the top of my class. I was deeply involved in student government, youth organizing, and 2SLGBTQ+ advocacy. In part due to these efforts, I was awarded the Lt. Governor’s Medal Award for Inclusion, Democracy, and Reconciliation.
