Support the engineers and leads to design, develop, test, and launch Telematics products. • Lead/manage Deer Park Mechanical Engineering staffing and resource allocation for project execution. • Coordinate with Deer Park location HW Lead and Project Solution Managers to understand scope of project work to be done. This includes yearly planning as well as new business quotes. • Coordinate between the Deer Park mechanical engineering team Project Leads/Senior Staff Engineers and the Deer Park location Hardware Lead on staffing requirements and forecast to support the committed project work. • Collaborate with other mechanical engineering site leads within the Americas region to balance loading to accomplish work. • Support the Deer Park location Hardware Lead in forecasting/managing RDST for all mechanical engineering external spending. • Support the Deer Park location Hardware Lead in forecasting/managing travel, samples, tooling, material, and validation costs (DV/PV). • Coordinate with Lake Zurich AQL team on validation forecasting and budgeting. • Support the Deer Park location Hardware Lead and location R&D controller in reconciling and accruing for external spending. Lead/manage/support the Deer Park mechanical engineering team in their skill and product development. • Coach/mentor the Deer Park mechanical engineering team in execution of project work. • Perform regular project reviews with the Deer Park mechanical engineering team, and enable resolution of issues raised, or provide a path of escalation for help. • Identify skill set gaps/shortfalls within the Deer Park mechanical engineering team and work with the Deer Park location Hardware Lead to develop a plan/recommendation for closing the gaps. Support employee development through career planning, employee dialogs, salary and promotion planning, and promoting visibility for the team.
