ABOUT SHELBY DYE

I aim to drive on-the-ground conservation and grassroots conservation initiatives to create meaningful, and long-term community impact by facilitating collaboration, awareness, and inclusive education, and action, among communities and citizen scientists. My hope is to generate a wider, more sustainable system of change aimed toward achieving a transformational green/biodiversity/habitat recovery for the planet we all share. Experienced in driving nonprofit community engagement and development across multiple audiences for NGOs, institutions, corporations, and foundations. As a storyteller, relationship builder and lifelong learner, I\'m committed to understanding audiences to meet and exceed their needs. My mission is to make life better for people, other animals, and the environment through community-centered efforts. As an engaged advocate for Biodiversity AND Neurodiversity, I prioritize mitigating barriers to access and inclusion in the field of conservation science, especially for underserved communities, and the neurodiverse community. I seek to understand the intricate and intersectional factors that impact inclusion for neurodiverse individuals and aim to build a resource library for neurodiverse professionals and leadership to enhance access and inclusion efforts in the field. My experience across multiple organizations with vastly different strategic goals demonstrates my nimble and resilient working style, as well as my commitment to projects and the functions of team strategy. I seek to address and remove barriers to conservation education in underserved communities, and work alongside community members to understand and address important, conservation, socio-economic issues.
