ABOUT SHELBY SPACH

Finance isn’t just about numbers, it’s about strategy, decision-making, and creating opportunities. As a Finance student at UNC Charlotte’s Belk College of Business, I’m passionate about using these principles to develop my career in the financial services industry. Please feel free to message me or contact me via @s••••••@charlotte.edu! My Mission Growing up, I watched my family navigate financial decisions some were successful, others challenging. I realized that financial literacy and strategic planning can change lives and situations. That moment sparked my curiosity: How do individuals make smart financial choices? What can I do to be financially stable? Studying finance at UNC Charlotte became my way of answering those questions and helping others do the same. I am studying finance and pursuing a bachelor\'s degree so that I can build a strong foundation for my future career in finance and commercial real estate. I want to strengthen and develop skills in interpersonal abilities, financial analysis, financial planning, and investment strategies. I am eager to discover new opportunities to assist in my growth within the field!Skills, Accomplishments, & Impact Through coursework, work experience, and leadership roles, I have gained valuable experience and insight into how to be successful in the financial industry. During group academic projects, I aim to solve communication and critical thinking issues. By using my interpersonal and critical thinking skills, I can solve issues such as task delegation, meeting deadlines, and creative planning within the group. As a sorority director of career and personal development, I strive to foster personal and professional growth among my peers. I am able to organize professional development events, connecting members with finance and business leaders. I have also led mentorship initiatives that improved career readiness among peers.Being involved in Make-A-Wish Philanthropy has helped me develop budgeting and financial planning skills, fundraising strategies, and problem-solving and adaptation skills. With these skills, fundraising goals were able to be met. My experience in retail has allowed me to strengthen my critical thinking skills when trying to solve problems for customers. It has also helped me develop strong teamwork, multitasking, and goal-setting skills. With my 3 ½ years of retail experience, I have developed a strong work ethic that can be easily transferrable to the financial industry. Let’s Connect! Now that you know more about me, I’d love to connect and learn from you!
