About Shelby Green

Full-time actuary, part-time poet, and some-time musician. A life-long lover of books and knowledge, I am seeking to pair my love of the fantastical with the intricacies of real life.It is still surreal to me that I have started my first full-time job. I am currently working on the Individual Life Pricing team, and will be putting my AXIS skills and insurance knowledge to the test when modeling quotes. Although I will most often be in Excel, I hope to continue to keep my loves of reading, writing, and communicating alive by writing poetry for local magazines or journals and volunteering in my community.My hardest challenge thus far has been wrapping by brain around the marvel of mathematics. I have learned so much through my Actuarial Science and Risk Management and Insurance majors. Now, it is time to apply that book knowledge to the real world. Like a witch unravelling a spell, so must I analyze the chain of numbers before me.Ever the observer, I love to listen and look around for what others might miss. I hope to continue to grow my curiosity, problem-solving skills, and technical abilities throughout my time at Munich Re Life US. But if you ever see me at my leisure, I’ll probably have my nose in a book.
