About Shelby Hebard
I’m an accountant who thinks like a builder. I’m drawn to the full story behind the numbers - how transactions move through systems, how processes connect across teams, and where small improvements can make the work cleaner, faster, and easier to sustain. My background spans the energy value chain, from upstream production to midstream processing to regulated utility distribution, with additional experience in manufacturing. This breadth of experience now informs my internal audit work focused on SOX controls. I enjoy environments where accounting goes beyond compliance and becomes structure, clarity, and decision support. Much of my work has involved improving processes, strengthening documentation, and helping teams build workflows that hold up under real-world complexity.I’m currently completing my MBA and actively studying for the CPA exam.
