ABOUT SHELBY ELIAS
Shelby Elias is currently the Camp Director at the Albert & Ann Deshur JCC Rainbow Day Camp in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In her role, Shelby focuses on the daily operations of a large summer camp. She hires and trains over 100 staff each summer and manages the logistics of implementing a memorable experience for over 860 unique campers. Shelby graduated from UW-Madison in 2015 with a BS in Community and Nonprofit Leadership and her Master’s in Business Administration from UW-Milwaukee in 2022. She is part of the Emerging Women Leader’s group through TEMPO Milwaukee and serves on the Board of Directors for Vision Forward. She was also the recipient of the 2022 Jack Weiner Leadership Award through the American Camp Association. Shelby believes her role as a Camp Director is to help individuals build two things: confidence and character. She focuses on developing leaders amongst her young team with the hopes of impacting their futures beyond the camp experience, which is often their first job. When not at the office, Shelby enjoys spending time with her husband and son, running, watching sports, and quoting her favorite Friends episodes.
