Few examples are, Crest Whitestrips, Crest ProHealth, Aleve Analgesic, Prilosec, Olay Regenerist/ProX Skin Care, SK II, Hugo Boss and Gucci Fragrances, Gillette and Old Spice Clinical Strength and Metamucil (cholesterol lowering), prescription H pylori gastritis treatment. Several of these, i.e, Crest Whitestrips, Olay Regenerist, Prilosec and Old Spice Clinical Strength were named among the top ten consumer product innovations. These innovations have created and grown major P&G brands and their equities with the help of noticeable, meaningful benefits provided to consumers fulfilling their unmet needs in a superior way. He has led the global innovation strategy and capability growth for P&G with the start-up of Beijing, Bangalore, Rio and Africa innovation hubs. After 29 years at P&G and post retirement, he has spent the past 6 years as a Board member and Strategic Advisor to several Fortune 500 companies, new ventures and Private Equity companies continuing to advise on development of transformational ideas, new business creation and innovation strategies to drive category growth. Shekhar leverages flexible, collaborative, externally connected models of innovation. In 2010, he was awarded the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor and is listed in the U.S. Congressional Record for his contributions to touching and improving lives through his impact on consumer meaningful innovations and community service. He is passionate about enabling younger generation of scientists and engineers across all cultures, companies, and businesses to achieve their full potential as professionals. Shekhar is co-founder and President of the Board of Trustees of the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers, one of the fastest growing networks of its kind that supports leadership development for students on campus and young professionals. Shekhar has been awarded over 50 patents to date in various fields and is an invited speaker on topics ranging from game-changing innovation approaches and organization development.
