Sheila Cruz-Morales is a Mexican-American entrepreneur, movement builder, and creative strategist shaping policy and politics at the intersection of justice, digital media, and culture. Her work is driven by a clear mission: to amplify the voices of immigrants and build pathways to dignity, safety, and freedom.Born in Oaxaca, Mexico, and raised in New Jersey, Sheila is Ñuu Savi—a member of the Mixtec Nation. She is a first-generation Georgetown University alumna with majors in government and women and gender studies, and was the teaching assistant to Professor Donna Brazile in the Women in American Politics course. Sheila uses education and organizing to challenge exclusionary systems and expand access to power. At just 19, Sheila founded College Access for Non-Citizens, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to expanding higher education pathways for undocumented and first-generation students, assisting them in gaining acceptances and scholarships to top universities in the U.S. Additionally, Sheila has worked directly with the Biden-Harris Administration, lobbying inside the West Wing to defend DACA and advance inclusive immigration reform. Her leadership has been recognized by President Joe Biden, who named her among Latinx leaders helping shape the nation’s future and featured her in the President’s 2023 Campaign Launch Official video. A prolific storyteller and political commentator, Sheila centers the lived experiences of working communities to shift narratives. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, The Daily Podcast, Teen Vogue, Telemundo, and Univision.
