I\'m excited to join the leadership of BIMA, a beautiful new regional museum focused on the Art & Craft of the Puget Sound Region, and delightfully located ten minutes from my home for the last 20 years on beautiful Bainbridge Island.As Executive Director I\'m proud to join the newly named Chief Curstor Greg Robinson, and feel that we can steward this organization artistically and strategically in this critical, defining part of its life as a cultural hub. It\'s a fabulous opportunity for me as BIMA is much more than a museum, it\'s an organization passionately committed to community partnership and educational programs, including everything from field trips, workshops, and artist lecture series to publishing, special events, a Northwest artist focused museum store, and community partnerships. You can feel the passion and commitment to excellence in every aspect of the museum, from breathtaking shows like the current Heaven on Fire by the astounding Barbara Earl Thomas, to the gorgeous LEED gold building, designed by Coates & Associates, to the beautiful food of Melinda Lucas served daily in the Museum Bistro. This is a class act, and I am excited to join the party.
