About Moni

My research and career interests focus on development of sustainable product systems and technologies. I have a strong research background with expertise in life cycle assessment (LCA), techno-economic analysis (TEA) and sustainability evaluation. In my Ph.D. work, I have developed prospective LCA framework (LCA-ET) to evaluate emerging technologies at low technology readiness levels (lab scale/bench scale) which enables engineers to make decisions at early stages of design and guide development of emerging technologies with improved environmental performances. I also have extensive experience of applying LCA to evaluate emerging technologies from different industries (solar PV, renewable energy, wastewater treatment) and support decision makers selecting from process alternatives.I’m also enthusiastic about business side of the technology development. In my Ph.D. work, I collaborated to develop integrated LCA-TEA model for simultaneous techno-economic and environmental evaluation of new products, processes and technologies to maximize revenue/profit and minimize environmental impacts.I also have a growing interest in Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing. Recently, I got TUM Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt.With my academic background of Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Business Administration, I am very much interested to have a career, where I can impact not only technical aspects, but also business aspects of product systems or technologies.Proficiencies:• Programming Languages: Excel VBA, MATLAB, Python, R, FORTRAN• LCA Packages: OpenLCA, GaBi• Process simulation process: Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS• Data analysis and other applications: Tableau,@RISK, Microsoft Office, LaTeXWhen I’m not working, I am likely playing with my little girl; watching cricket or college football on TV; working on new techniques in tennis court or visiting new places with family and friends.
