As a Vidushi Fellow under the Swavalamban Project, I worked closely with local communities in Darjeeling to promote sustainable livelihoods and women-led enterprises. My role focused on:Facilitating the Swavalamban Working and Steering Mechanism (SWSM) and mentoring grassroots roles like Mitra, Dhavak, and Vaani to ensure effective participation and collaboration.Strengthening Vaibhavi (women entrepreneur groups) and supporting business growth through Common Service Points (CSPs) and financial inclusion.Conducting capacity-building sessions on governance, conflict resolution, skill training, and value-based supply chains.Building strong relationships with community stakeholders to ensure local ownership and sustainability.This experience deepened my skills in community development, enterprise facilitation, and participatory governance.
