ABOUT SHEENA E.

I’ve spent my life studying the intersection of spirit, science, and systems. What began as a personal journey toward understanding my own mind and body has evolved into a professional calling: to help others heal, lead, and live in alignment. As a holistic wellness educator and cultural care consultant, I guide individuals and institutions toward more equitable and embodied models of care. Through OnePeopleTO, I design complementary wellness programs that merge ancestral wisdom with trauma-informed practice, centering those most often excluded from the language of wellness: Black, Indigenous, and racialized communities, women, and those recovering from systemic harm.My work is informed by both lived experience and lifelong study. Over the years, I’ve integrated traditional and non-traditional methods into a grounded spiritual toolkit: Reiki, somatic healing, mindfulness, astrology, art, and plant medicine. Each serves as a language for remembering that wellness is legacy work.Professionally, I’ve held space in both corporate and community environments, from Toronto Metropolitan University to national initiatives across Canada. I’ve supported thousands through counseling, workshops, and retreats, creating safe containers for emotional processing, self-advocacy, and restoration. My practice continues through speaking, teaching, and consulting, always with an emphasis on cultural responsiveness, psychological safety, and ancestral connection.Recent highlights include contributing lunar wellness guides for Karlyn Percil-Merecia’s Success Planner, appearing in ESPN’s Peace of Mind documentary, and facilitating medicine retreats with Wake Retreats. I’ve served as a Mindfulness & Money Coach with Conscious Economics, co-led national research for the HeArtWork gender-equity project, and provided sensitivity consulting for Zalika Benta-Reid’s award-nominated novel RiverMumma. My work has also included wellness retreat design for Black CAP, speaking at OpenMinds Expo and the Ontario Black School Educators Conference, and participating in studies with Walden University and Celina Caesar-Chavannes on culturally informed care and Black women’s entrepreneurship. At its core, my work is about returning people to themselves, restoring what colonial and patriarchal systems have fractured. Whether through Reiki, cultural care sessions, or institutional consulting, I hold space for transformation that is personal and collective. You can learn more about my work at onepeopleto.ca or
