About Peter Sheats
I build and scale software companies. Over the past 15+ years, I’ve helped take products from zero to market leadership and through successful exits. My background sits at the intersection of hands-on engineering, product thinking, and execution at scale. I was the first engineer at ClearCare, where we built the platform from the ground up to serve home care agencies, including most of the largest enterprises in the industry. That experience shaped how I think about systems, reliability, and scaling in complex environments. I later co-founded Activated Insights, where we built and scaled a SaaS platform focused on data, performance, and retention in the senior care space. The company grew to meaningful scale and was successfully acquired. Most recently, I served as CTO at Home Care Pulse, leading engineering across product, infrastructure, and data systems. Today, I’m building ReturnZap, a Shopify returns platform designed to simplify operations, improve customer experience, and recover revenue through smarter return and exchange workflows. I’m a hands-on technical leader. I still write and review code, but my focus is on: building products that actually get used creating systems that scale without constant rework hiring and developing strong, pragmatic engineering teams aligning technology with real business outcomes I enjoy working on products where execution matters and there’s a clear path from idea → traction → scale.
