ABOUT SCOTT DELISI

For 34 years I served the United States as a career diplomat, including three times as American Ambassador. I have learned how to work effectively within multi-disciplinary interagency teams and, more importantly, how to lead them. Crisis management and problem solving were my daily fare, but looking beyond today\'s crises to shape a vision of the future, and how to get there, is the heart of my leadership style. I know the importance of telling a story about values that resonates with target audiences and I am an accomplished communicator equally at ease with print, radio, and television as well as the tools of today\'s online world, such as Facebook and Twitter. Human rights, developement and governance issues have been central to my work in every country in which I have served in Africa and South Asia, and I have particular expertise in policy making, disaster risk reduction, and public health. Today, in addition to continued work for the State Department I lead Engage Nepal a 501 (c)(3) non-profit dedicated to changing the future for vulnerable children and families in Nepal. I\'ve valued the chance to build a non-profit organization, committed to a cause I care about, from the ground up. We continue to grow and expand our engagement. I look forward to partnering with other organizations working on issues that matter and who are committed to building a better world. I am open to serving on boards of NGO and other entities where my skills and experience may let me make a contribution. I am also expanding my public speaking role with a focus on foreign affairs, ethical leadership and decision making, and youth engagement.
