About Shayla S.
As a Mechanical Engineer 2 at L3Harris Technologies, I work with high-power multi-purpose radar systems and antennas during the research and development phase. I supply mechanical support in the fast-paced environment for first production prime hardware subassemblies and systems. I conduct tolerance stack up and GD & T analysis to confirm that piece parts will fit as intended and ensure their manufacturability. I also organize and lead cross-functional meetings to discuss trade studies between different mechanical designs. I graduated from The University of Texas at Dallas with a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 2019. Since then, I have gained valuable experience in electronic manufacturing and mechanical product design, working with multidisciplinary teams of engineers and operators. I have fully designed and fabricated a test verification fixture that increased the productivity of a prime hardware circuit card assembly. I have also contributed to the mechanical verification tests and the shock and vibe testing of essential components for the Advanced Low-Cost Munitions Ordnance (ALaMO) program. I am constantly looking to learn new skills that challenge me and push me out of my comfort zone. I excel working in a team environment where everyone is contributing to a common objective. I believe in working hard and persevering through difficult problems to reach the desired goals.
