Shawn Hussein is a principal in the Mergers & Acquisitions (\"M&A\") Tax practice in Philadelphia, PA. Prior to joining the Philadelphia M&A Tax practice, Shawn was a director in the Washington National Tax Services (\"WNTS\") M&A Tax Practice within PwC. WNTS is the technical core of PwC\'s tax practice. The WNTS M&A Tax practice is a premier, highly experienced team, including former senior Congressional, Treasury, and IRS officials, that assists companies in staying up to date on the latest legislative, regulatory, and judicial matters, and helps companies navigate the ever-changing tax landscape. The PwC WNTS M&A Tax team delivers innovative tax advice on some of the largest and most complex corporate transactions. Shawn\'s practice focuses advising on tax-free reorganizations, spin-offs and similar transactions, the cross-border implications of corporate transactions, redemption transactions, global restructurings, and taxable acquisitions. In addition, Shawn\'s expertise focuses on the preservation of tax attributes (including U.S. federal net operating losses). Shawn has performed numerous Section 382 studies on both public and privately held corporations throughout many different industries. Shawn obtained his Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Miami School of Law, his Juris Doctor from Duquesne University School of Law, and his Bachelor of Arts from the Pennsylvania State University. Shawn is also licensed to practice law in the state of Pennsylvania.
