Responsibilities include adopting ordinances and the city budget, appointing members to city boards and commissions, and setting city-wide policy goals. The City operates under a council-manager form of government, where the Council hires the City Manager, who is responsible for the day-to-day management of the city\'s administrative departments. During my time on council, we have started the first ever police department in the City of Aledo, added the Aledo Public Library as a city department, oversaw the building of a new city hall and lowered the tax rate in the most recent budget.
