ABOUT SHAWN SILVESTRI

I am a Clinical Support Manager and Paramedic Educator with a background as an Advanced Care Paramedic and more than a decade supporting frontline and remote healthcare teams across Canada. My professional focus is on building high-performing clinical teams through evidence-based education, robust governance, and psychologically safe learning environments.Over my career I’ve: • Led restructuring of onboarding, CME, and modular training programs across multiple service lines. • Designed objective-based, accreditation-aligned education frameworks for paramedics, nurses, and remote clinicians. • Built comprehensive governance structures including Clinical Practice Committees, QA & education rounds, and just-culture-informed development pathways. • Supported air ambulance, industrial health, community paramedicine, and remote northern health centre operations. • Created scalable tools including rubrics, SOPs, behaviour matrices, orientation programs, deployment readiness systems, and learning plan frameworks. • Delivered over 200 CME sessions, developed an adult learning capstone project, and helped train more than 150 ACPs for remote primary care roles.My work is shaped by advanced study in adult education and grounded in social constructivism, resilience theory, and critical thinking—focusing on practitioner self-efficacy, critical reflection, and psychologically safe learning.I’m exploring opportunities for consultative or part-time work in: • Clinical education design • Curriculum development • Clinical governance & QA • Program evaluation • Remote & northern health systems planning • High-reliability healthcare practices • Aeromedical education (CRM/AMRM/ATRM)Always open to connect on shared interests in paramedicine, adult education, and healthcare system design.
