ABOUT SHAWN KEYES

I’m a commercial executive and engineer with more than a decade of experience scaling mass timber and industrialized construction in Canada.My work sits at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, construction, and real-estate market strategy. Having held leadership roles in structural engineering, project delivery, market development, and prefab commercialization, I bring a systems-level view to complex decisions —understanding how product, manufacturing, construction, and market risk interact on real projects.I currently serve as Vice President of Strategic Growth at Intelligent City, where I lead commercialization and partnerships to scale our prefabricated mass-timber systems for urban housing. Previously, as Executive Director of WoodWorks BC, I led a strategic transformation that strengthened educational leadership, built a first-of-its kind industry ecosystem, and expanded partnerships across industry and government to increase adoption of timber construction. Over the course of my career I have supported more than 150 mass timber and hybrid projects while building the teams, organizations, and operating systems behind them. I’m known for systems thinking, steady judgment under pressure, and developing strategy that translates into durable execution at scale.I’m motivated by work that solves real problems—housing affordability, construction productivity, and climate impact—and I enjoy collaborating with builders, developers, policymakers, and designers who are focused on turning ambition into reality.
