About Shawn Duhon

I am an educator and school leader committed to empowering students, supporting teachers, and strengthening school systems. Before entering education, I worked in mental health and security for several years—experiences that shaped my belief in service, relationship-building, and meeting students where they are.Since transitioning into education, I have earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Education with a focus on Curriculum & Instruction/Educational Leadership. I have taught multiple subjects, coached athletics, and currently serve in several leadership roles at Port Allen High School, including JAG Specialist, MTSS Coordinator, Elective Content Lead, and Instructional Leadership Team member.In these roles, I lead instructional planning, mentor teachers, coordinate tiered interventions, manage school-wide initiatives, and help create a positive and equitable learning environment. My work centers on student engagement, academic growth, data-driven decision making, and supporting the overall school culture.My short-term goal is to serve as an Assistant Principal, where I can continue expanding my leadership impact, support teachers, and contribute to school-wide improvement. My long-term goal is to become a Principal, leading a campus with vision, culture, and a strong commitment to student achievement and community partnership.I believe leadership is service. Every role I hold is rooted in purpose, growth, and the desire to positively impact the lives of students and educators.
