ABOUT SHAWN DASGUPTA
Almost everyone in America has ridden on or seen a school bus. It takes a lot of work and planning to provide transportation for 46 million school children at a cost of $17.5 billion per year. I play a small part in this great industry. I ensure my department\'s goals are met and services are provided in an efficient and safe manner. Currently, I do whatever needs done to keep our operation running smoothly, but have been directly involved with another district in moving away from contracted bus services to district-owned and managed transportation. My skills include process analysis to optimize equipment and personnel, interpersonal skills to develop positive interactions with staff, parents and administrators, as well as a mechanical background to oversee our maintenance staff.
