About Shawn Connick

I have spent my 25+ year career focusing on keeping the health and safety of our workers paramount. To do this, I\'ve learned we must look beyond the workers themselves to include the systems and processes these workers use in their day-to-day jobs. I ask the following questions often: Why do workers make the mistakes they do? How do we mitigate risk without jeopardizing innovation? How do we keep insurance claims low while still encouraging our workers to report incidents and seek medical help when needed? This is where Human Organization Performance (HOP) enters the picture. This transformative way of thinking isn’t simply \"new age philosophy\" or another way to accomplish the same goal of “zero incidents”. HOP is rooted in psychology and systems design, and remains curious about the difference between how work is actually performed versus the intended plan. My passion lies in helping to solve these complex questions. Utilizing HOP thinking enables me to support both workers and leaders in creating effective and sustainable solutions to these realities. With our organizations working together toward the common goal of operational learning, we can move the needle towards preventing Serious Injury and Fatality together.

   Supports the Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) team within the Corporate Safety, Health, Environment, Quality, and Training (SHEQT) department to ensure effective integration of HOP principles and concepts at Quanta Services. I work with a broad range of stakeholder groups and serve as a primary corporate resource to deliver Quanta’s internal human and organizational performance training courses as well as lead the facilitation of learning teams across all Quanta Services Operating Units.
