Supervise a team of security-cleared engineers, attorneys, communications technicians, analysts, and operations specialists responsible for the assessment of telecommunications systems and radio frequency (RF) spectrum in support of national security, law enforcement, and public safety initiatives. Selected responsibilities include: Leveraging Congressional funding to modernize the FCC’s RF spectrum collection capabilities in support of national security and disaster response. Lead the FCC’s operational teams supporting National Special Security Events and Special Event Assessment Rating level 1 events, e.g, Presidential Inauguration, national conventions, Super Bowl, etc. Coordinate interagency activities to restore critical communications infrastructure during major disasters, including direct support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency to determine the status of public safety communications and emergency alert broadcast infrastructure and functionality. Direct the FCC’s Incident Management Team for internal events affecting mission essential functions, as well as when the FCC is acting as part of the interagency response to a major disaster, manage the Commission’s continuity programs to ensure the uninterrupted performance of all mission essential functions. Managing the system design, deployment, testing, maintenance and modernization of a distributed nationwide array of over 190 receivers, sensors, and direction-finding sites used to support disaster response, law enforcement, and national security missions capable of being accessed remotely by interagency and other stakeholders, transitioning infrastructure to a cloud-based design to add new capabilities and enhance security. Represent the Commission on a wide range of National Security Council-led Interagency Policy Committees, Sub-IPCs, and working groups, with emphasis on response, resilience, and global sports initiatives, including 2026 FIFA World Cup, and the LA28 Olympics.
