ABOUT SHAWN C. MCCLAIN

Driven by outrage, I enjoy solving problems and finding ways. I work across various business units at Endeavor, an innovative company that is reshaping the entertainment & media eco-system. I mostly secure host sites, sponsorships and endorsements within IMG Events for brands such as Miss Universe, World’s Strongest Man, UFC and others. Within Miss Universe I oversee most LatAm and Filipino negotiations and enjoy creating new partnerships in Asia and LatAm.NYU Stern is important to me; my classmates are extremely talented and I am lucky to have had the privilege of working/studying with them. At Stern, I bolstered my understanding of business, marketing and finance, as well as leadership and the power of teamwork. I served as the President of the Stern Student Government and co-chaired the class gift to the Dean\'s Fund. The campaign \"383 Strong” reached 99% participation- the highest in NYU Stern\'s history. I also worked within the Product Development division of Telemundo in Miami and gained valuable insight into the Latin consumer. While in college I worked at the U.S. Embassy in Madrid, where I conducted research for U.S. businesses looking to invest in Europe. I’m passionate about the Same Sky Trade Initiative, a social enterprise business with operations in Rwanda and the U.S. Same Sky offers disadvantaged women a \"hand-up\" not a \"hand-out\" by teaching sustainable skills and offering both employment and inspiration. I enjoy cooking, reading, biking and learning about the global economy. I thoroughly appreciate good customer service and can never understand why every major city slows to a crawl when it rains.
