   As the Commonwealth’s premier Workforce Development organization, the Hampton Roads Workforce Council’s mission is both significant and impactful. We serve as the regional convener for workforce development to ensure we have the systems in place to create economic prosperity and enhance the quality of life in a region of over 1.7 million residents and employers from 15 separate political jurisdictions. Report to Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Workforce Council, which includes 54 regional leaders from business, education and civic organizations and 15 Local Elected Officials. Provide executive, managerial, and leadership to a 70+ person organizational staff to carry out the directives of the Board of Directors. The primary purpose is to assist the Board in developing its strategic vision and planning; oversee and manage the implementation of specific Board initiatives; develop and facilitate the functioning of community partnerships which advance the Board’s goals; maintain relationships with Federal and State funding sources and localities; and ensure an adequate flow of information, including performance indicators, to assist the Board’s oversight and decision-making processes. Responsible for all initiatives, programs, procedures, and activities of the Board.
