SKILLS
ABOUT SHAUN OLESON
I’ve been with The Laser Institute for more than 15 years, and during that time I’ve learned a lot about what helps teams and communities do their best work. LIA has more than five decades of history behind it, and I try to honor that by leading in a way that serves the people around me: removing roadblocks where I can, making sure resources line up with goals, and helping create an environment where others can succeed.I’ve always believed progress comes from people talking to each other, sharing ideas, and feeling invested in where we’re headed. My focus now is on amplifying the individuals and organizations moving lasers, laser applications, and laser safety forward. I work with the LIA team on improving how we collaborate, using data to make better decisions, and building relationships that strengthen our community.Serving on the Board of the Florida Photonics Cluster gives me another way to stay connected with industry partners and build bridges across science, industry, and education.I’m optimistic about where our field is heading, and I enjoy working with others who feel the same. If you’d like to talk about collaboration or how LIA supports the laser community, feel free to reach out.
