About Shaun Martin

Shaun Martin is a highly accomplished strategic planner, program entrepreneur and manager, fundraiser, trainer and communicator with expertise in the fields of nature-based solutions, climate change adaptation and resilience, biodiversity conservation, capacity building, international educational exchange and cross-cultural communications. Shaun has devoted the past 15 years of his career to shifting the conservation paradigm from one that restores the past to one that prepares people and nature for a very different future. He uses his strengths and expertise to help empower others to integrate climate change considerations into their work to manage risk and build resilience. He has given dozens of talks and training workshops in 34 countries on six continents for diverse audiences including students and educators, philanthropists, conservation scientists, development professionals and government ministers.Shaun holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a master’s degree in international development from the University of Pittsburgh. He serves on the boards of directors for the School of Field Studies and Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leaders. He is also a member of the advisory boards for America Adapts Media and ee360 for the North American Association for Environmental Education.
