About Shaun Delozier
With over 10 years of engineering experience, I am a passionate and skilled leader in designing and delivering safe and reliable attractions for the entertainment industry. As a certified Functional Safety Engineer - Machinery, I have a deep understanding of the standards and regulations that govern safety-critical systems, such as show control, motion control, and ride control. Currently, I am the Senior Manager, Engineering (Controls) at Universal Orlando Resort, where I oversee the engineering team for the Universal Epic Universe project, the most ambitious and innovative theme park ever created by Universal. In my previous role as a Supervisor, Controls Engineering at Universal Orlando Resort, I was responsible for leading the controls engineering team for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter attractions, one of the most popular and immersive areas of the park. I managed the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of the complex and dynamic control systems that bring the magic of Harry Potter to life. I also collaborated with other engineering disciplines, vendors, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure the quality and safety of the attractions. Some of the skills that I applied and developed in this role include fault analysis, show control, communication protocols, PLC programming, and technical documentation.
