ABOUT SHAUN CASTLE

Shaun Castle, Chief Operating Officer of Paralyzed Veterans of America and Executive Director of PVA Research and Education Foundations, is a dynamic professional with a robust background in global advocacy, disability rights, and corporate social responsibility. Holding a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership and two master’s degrees one in Global Business Management and one in Advertising/Public Relations with a focus in Marketing Communications from the University of Alabama.In his current role, Castle manages a $100M+ yearly budget and provides strategic direction to 13 direct reports and various departments, including Corporate Development, Direct Response Marketing, Human Resources, Digital Fundraising, Data Analytics, Communications/PR, and Veterans Career Program. He collaborates with the CEO, CFO, and other C-suite executives to develop and implement the organization\'s strategic plans, goals, objectives, and key performance indicators. He also builds and maintains relationships with key stakeholders, such as members, corporate partners, vendors, and regulatory bodies, and ensures effective communication and collaboration to meet the organization\'s operational goals. He is the senior most advisor to the CEO and a trusted leader in the nonprofit sector.Shaun\'s expertise extends to public speaking engagements nationwide, addressing ADA compliance, disability rights, veterans’ issues, and corporate social responsibility. Appointed to the Secretary of Veterans Affairs Committee on Prosthetics and Special Disabilities, he has testified before Congress on Social Security sustainability for people with disabilities and advocated for Air Career Access legislation before the Department of Transportation.As a keynote speaker at the Reuters Sustainable Investing Conference and Penske Marketing Summit, Shaun has shared insights on sustainable investing and maximizing nonprofit/for-profit partnerships. Shaun is dedicated to advancing impactful initiatives in his multifaceted role, making significant contributions to the fields of disability advocacy and corporate leadership.During his tenure at the University of Alabama, Shaun played a pivotal role in ADA Compliance and helped secure funding for the groundbreaking wheelchair basketball arena. While at Alabama, Shaun was an adapted sports athlete who played wheelchair basketball for the Crimson Tide.
