About Shaun Botha

My background is in solution design and development, with a strong focus on high-availability communications infrastructure and technologies. I’m currently at Rally Tactical Systems where we’re building cool new stuff for tactical systems and austere network environments. I’m having tons of fun working with a great team around the world that are all focused on building the best software out there based on direct guidance and participation from our customers. In I co-founded Twisted Pair Solutions - the developer of the \"WAVE\" software used for mission-critical VoIP communications systems for military, government, and large enterprise organizations around the world. Over more than a decade our company flourished, culminating in its acquisition by Motorola Solutions in 2014 where I was a Fellow of the Technical Staff. Before Motorola and TPS, I spent more than a decade in the telecommunications industry as head of Research and Development for Williams Communications. Prior to that, I co-developed the world\'s first software for reading smart cards. I am also the founding partner of UC Dynamics - a consulting company that advises military, government, and global enterprises on strategies for planning, designing, and implementing Unified Communications solutions - particularly where those projects include mission-critical elements such as two-way radio systems. I am a proud graduate of Cape Technikon in South Africa and hold a degree in Computer Science. According to the Myers-Briggs test for personality type, I am ENTP - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ENTP.
