ABOUT SHAUN ALANE LOCKHART

Shaun leads the Tax Performance Improvement Practice at Alvarez and Marsal and specializes in optimization of the tax function, often paired with wide scale finance transformation projects. Shaun has extensive experience developing and enhancing the strategy and tax operating model of organizations through innovative process design, team enablement, data transformation, and use of a myriad of digital tools. Shaun’s passion is driving transformational change for in-house tax departments to enhance value throughout the organization. Shaun has over 25 years of experience at the Big 4 and in-house global tax departments, having served large multi-national clients across industries, including chemicals, manufacturing, energy, retail, insurance, and real estate. Shaun has extensive tax accounting expertise, including Sarbanes Oxley 404 readiness, control remediation, and enterprise risk and controls sustainment, SEC Financial Reporting, and Financial Tax Accounting (ASC 740). Shaun has helped large multi-nationals set up shared service centers/centers of excellence for their tax function and has significant experience in leading tax process and technology groups in India. Shaun holds Master of Taxation and Bachelor of Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting, degrees from Georgia State University and is a Certified Public Accountant in GA, FL, NC, and TN. Shaun is a member of the AICPA and serves as President of the Georgia State University School of Accountancy Advisory Board.
