Born at the dawn of dial-up internet, I have spent my intellectual life excited by the digitization of products and growing importance of information systems. I have worked on dozens of project teams and with many technical stacks to build a variety of web and mobile applications. In doing so, I\'ve made and lived with design decisions and engineering tradeoffs, each seeking to balance team productivity, performance and delivery of business value.I specialize in architecting and implementing web-based product systems that provide a superior experience to both business users and engineers. With a strong focus on relational data modeling and aggressive automation, the systems I set up grease the wheels for engineers to focus on the problem at hand. In my experience, happy developers and informed business users leads to good product decisions, happy users, and growth. Most recently, I have led a product engineering team in a fast-paced startup environment and found great joy and productivity with SQL, Javascript, Clojure, Datomic, and Elixir.
