ABOUT SHAUN MCCOSHUM

As a conservation biologist and landscape ecologist, I am regularly working outdoors, collecting and analyzing data, working with landowners on conservation projects like pollinator gardens, and navigating permitting processes. Currently, I am a Senior Ecologist (fancy wildlife biologist) conducting habitat assessments, biological and wetland surveys for permitting, and creating multi-year Vegetation Management Plans with key performance indicators across the country. Some of my certifications include Certified Wildlife Biologist, Professional Wetland Scientist, and GIS analyst. Over the past few years my work has covered energy infrastructure and regulatory compliance, as well as collecting and identifying insect pollinators and plants. In the past, I have published on a wide variety of topics including a book on wildlife gardening and scientific manuscripts on: monarch migration, parasites, and parasitoids; tropical coral reef biota responses to sunscreen; environmental contaminants and response of bumble bee populations; and habitat loss occurring in the Mojave and Sonoran Deserts.
