Hi, this is Shashanka Shovan Patel, a passionate Mechanical Engineer specializing in Thermal Science and Engineering from IIT Bhubaneswar. As a skilled CFD professional with a keen ability to analyze and break down complex engineering problems into straightforward models, I have a deep understanding of numerical methods and simulation tools.During my tenure at IIT Bhubaneswar, I conducted simulations for the thermal management of a Li-ion battery module using a hybrid thermal management system in a inhouse developed FORTRAN code. This system combined dielectric fluid and phase change material, capable of operating during charging-discharging cycles and mitigating runaway propagation in short-circuit situations. This project showcased my ability to innovate and implement effective solutions to complex engineering challenges.My subject expertise includes CFD, Numerical Methods, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Energy Storage Systems, Porous Media and Li-ion Batteries. I am proficient in tools like ANSYS Fluent, ANSYS Mechanical, FORTRAN, ICEM CFD, MATLAB, Python and SolidWorks.In addition to my technical skills, I possess excellent communication and teamwork skills. I have collaborated with fellow researchers to develop experimental setups for PCM-metal foam composite energy storage systems and guided undergraduate students in their project work.
