About Sharon Pearson

I am an accomplished, diligent, and results-driven professional with a comprehensive background in the areas of program management, human resources, and administrative support. I have a track record of success in serving top executives of different organizations, coordinating highly effective programs, and organizing social events. As a result of being recognized for my skills and ability to get things done, I was asked to serve on the prestigious Lorain County Chamber Board. During my career, I have also demonstrated excellent communication skills, with proficiency in supervising staff, overseeing staff recruiting, and providing quality secretarial support. My favorite part of any job that I perform is when I am able to utilize my entrepreneurial abilities, especially as it relates to creativity, communication, and progressing toward a goal.I currently serve as the Mobility Manager at United Way of Greater Lorain County. My job entails working to improve transportation options specifically for seniors, persons with disabilities, low-income, and workforce to close the gaps on those unmet needs throughout Lorain County. I am the Chair of the Ohio Mobility Manager Advocacy Committee. I also currently serve on the Executive Board of the Lorain County Chamber of Commerce and is the Membership Committee Chair.Previously I worked for the City of Oberlin for 25 years, served as a member of Oberlin City Council for 6 years, and worked for the Oberlin Project, which is where I began my career in transportation. I also was an Affiliate Scholar at Oberlin College assisting with the development of the diversity section of the Environmental Dashboard. I have a bachelor’s degree is in Green and Sustainable Enterprise Business Management from the University of Phoenix. I am the President and Co-Owner, with my husband, of As You Wish Luxury Travel, which focuses on mostly international travel with the hopes of starting local chartered flights our of Lorain County Airport. I love to travel and to visit local wineries in Ohio. In my spare time, I enjoy exploring and learning creative entrepreneurial and marketing opportunities and strategies.

Primarily, my husband is the travel agent and I am the business and marketing manager. My husband plans to be a travel agent full-time in 2008, while I continue to work a full-time job.
