About Sharon Enck

I\'ve been writing all my life — ask me about my early journalism efforts for my 6th grade newspaper — but I really picked up the pen when my daughter strapped on ice hockey goalie pads. My blog Puckgal chronicled our adventures on and off the ice; and from it sprung features in various hockey magazines and a contributing author credit for the book My Kids Play Hockey: Essential Advice for Every Hockey Parent.​As a copywriter, my efforts have considerably increased engagement (both on and offline) through scroll-stopping social media posts, eye-catching newsletter copy, creative advertisements, and informative articles — long and short form. Whether it is messaging for higher education, a nonprofit or a corporate organization, the goal is always to connect with the audience member in an organic way.My personal writing demonstrates extends that obsession with reader connection and is often dominated by my wicked sense of humor and a little whimsy. My literary fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry have been featured in various literary magazines and the 50 Give or Take 2024 anthology of flash fiction. As an editor in chief, I have shared my passion for fiction and nonfiction through my work on literary magazines, and a book blog.My current endeavors include a personal essay collection, voice work — short stories, podcasting and color commentary for the sport of roller derby — and sharing my enthusiasm for writing with students as an English professor.I am open to stimulating projects and work that flexes my creative muscles such as copywriting, publishing, editing, and teaching.
